We strongly recommend that you take out Travel Insurance to cover all of your travel arrangements. Travel Insurance is also strongly recommended by the Department of Foreign Affairs and Trade, for all overseas travel.
We are an authorised representative for Cover-More Travel Insurance. Product Disclosure Statements for Travel Insurance products are available from our office and you should refer to them before purchasing a policy.
If you decline Travel Insurance or organise your own through another provider, you will be required to sign a disclaimer that we will provide.
Make sure your insurance covers all medical expenses for injury or illness, as well as theft of valuables, damage to baggage, and cancellations or interruptions to flight plans. Fully disclose any pre-existing medical conditions in writing. Please be aware that overseas medical costs can be exorbitant.
Cruise passengers are strongly encouraged to ensure appropriate Travel Insurance is in place, even for domestic cruises within Australian waters. Most of these vessels and their on-board medical practitioners are outside the scope of Australian Medicare. You should also ensure that you are covered for a Medivac at sea circumstance, if needed.
Also, if you plan to rely on the Travel Insurance provided by your credit card, we recommend that you obtain written confirmation of your coverage before travelling and ensure that you have the details of the policy clearly outlined in writing. Please be aware that like most travel insurance policies, these have age-restrictions and may not cover you for any pre-existing medical conditions.
